Universal Technical Institute appoints Julie Mueller campus president at Glendale Heights

GLENDALE HEIGHTS, ILL. - Universal Technical Institute (UTI), the industry’s choice for providing professional technicians for the automotive, diesel, collision repair, motorcycle and marine industries, is pleased to announce Julie Mueller as its new Glendale Heights campus president. Located just outside of Chicago, UTI Glendale Heights offers programs in automotive technology, diesel and industrial technology, and electives focusing on manufacturers like Ford and Toyota.

A UTI employee since 1998, Mueller previously held the positions of student services director, regional student services director and national student services director. Since July 2010, Mueller was filling the position of interim campus president at Glendale Heights, and accepted the permanent position of campus president last month.

“UTI is dedicated to promoting from within and allowing our best and most valuable campus leaders the opportunity to grow personally and professionally with the organization,” said UTI’s Eastern Regional Vice President of Operations, James Bartholomew. “I’ve had the opportunity to work side by side with Julie and continue to be impressed by her courage, ability to deal with challenges, and resolve to make decisions with the company’s best interest in mind. I truly appreciate her efforts and look forward to her continued success at our Glendale Heights campus."

Holding undergraduate degrees in psychology and sociology, and a graduate degree in social work, Mueller is passionate about helping others realize their full potential through her years of experience in counseling and service work.  Mueller’s desire to help others also expands beyond her workplace in volunteer capacities. Whether she’s helping Russian refugees learn what the requirements are to gain U.S. citizenship, or volunteering with a Labrador rescue organization, Mueller is quick to help when and how she can.

“Chicago is my home, and UTI has been my work ‘home’ for many years now,” said Mueller. “I couldn’t be more ecstatic at the prospect of continuing to work with the students and staff I’ve come to know and truly care for in what’s approaching 13 years at UTI.”

A native of Westchester, Ill., Mueller currently resides in Elk Grove Village, Ill. and is married with two stepchildren.
