NASCAR Technical Institute Opens Enrollment for New Robotics and Automation and Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning and Refrigeration ( HVACR) Programs

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 18, 2023)NASCAR Technical Institute (NASCAR Tech), has opened enrollment for its two newest programs, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning Heating and Refrigeration (HVACR) and Robotics and Automation. The Robotics and Automation program is slated to begin on Aug. 7, and the HVACR program is scheduled to begin on Sept. 18. NASCAR Tech is a division of Universal Technical Institute, Inc. (NYSE: UTI), a leading workforce solutions provider of transportation, energy, and skilled trades education programs.

NASCAR Technical Institute is one of four UTI campuses that will offer the HVACR program and joins the UTI campuses in Austin and Houston, Texas, and MIAT College of Technology’s Canton, Mich., campus. The HVACR program can be completed in as little as 39 weeks and prepares students for entry-level employment as a service and maintenance technician in various fields.

“We are pleased to expand our curricula to include these new programs at NASCAR Tech,” said Robert Kessler, campus president at NASCAR Technical Institute. “Together with our automotive, CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machining and welding technician training programs, HVACR and Robotics and Automation graduates will enter the workforce with state-of-the-industry training, along with the knowledge and expertise that is needed now and in the future.”

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates there will be 40,100 annual job openings for heating, air conditioning and refrigeration mechanics and installers through 2031 [1].

The Robotics and Automation program covers topics including industrial robotics and networking, electrical theory, instrumentation, and computer-aided design. Graduates of the program may seek employment as entry-level robotics and automation technicians, control system technicians and maintenance technicians. The program is one of six offered across UTI’s campuses and can be completed in as little as 51 weeks.
