Universal Technical Institute-Lisle Launches New BMW FastTrack Technician Training Program
Training offers credentials and certifications, tuition reimbursement available for eligible students
“We are thrilled to begin training for the BMW FastTrack program at our Lisle campus,” said Roger Gomez, campus president at UTI-Lisle. “Students will be learning from top instructors in their respective fields, and BMW has made a substantial investment in this program by providing new-model vehicles as training aids.

LISLE, Ill. (April 25, 2023) – Universal Technical Institute (UTI), a division of Universal Technical Institute, Inc (NYSE: UTI) and a leading workforce solutions provider of transportation and skilled trades education programs, launched its new BMW FastTrack technician training program at the Lisle, Ill., campus Monday. BMW FastTrack, a 12-week advanced training program, is a collaboration between the luxury-class German automaker and UTI. The program provides state-of-the-industry training on the latest models in production, utilizing tools, technology and procedures that are specific and proprietary to BMW vehicles.

Any student who completes UTI’s core automotive program is now eligible to apply for the additional BMW-specific training, which includes four technologies: workshop, electrical, chassis and drivetrain. Graduates of the BMW FastTrack program are able to earn seven BMW factory credentials and a BMW Associate Level Certification after passing BMW-specific ASE testing and assessments. Graduates may also apply for additional, advanced training in the BMW STEP program, which is offered at BMW locations.

This program makes our graduates even more prepared to enter the automotive workforce as BMW technicians immediately upon graduation. Graduates who go to work at a BMW dealership may also be eligible for tuition reimbursement and other incentives, so it’s a great opportunity for our students to increase their knowledge and prepare for a fulfilling career.”

Tuition reimbursement is offered by BMW to eligible graduates on a quarterly basis once they’re employed at an eligible BMW dealership. Full reimbursement of the FastTrack program’s cost is paid out if the graduate remains employed over a three-year period.

“There is a need for more highly skilled BMW technicians across our dealer network, so our alliance with Universal Technical Institute is critical to ensuring our dealers have the staff they need, and our customers receive the exemplary service they’ve come to expect,” said Gary Uyematsu, national technical training manager, BMW of North America. “Upon completion of the UTI program, technicians arrive at our dealers fully equipped to make an immediate contribution as maintenance level technicians.”

Enrollment for the program is ongoing. The BMW FastTrack program is also offered at UTI’s Avondale, Ariz., Orlando, Fla., Exton, Pa., Houston, Texas and Long Beach, Calif. campuses.
