“I couldn’t be more excited to join Universal Technical Institute’s NASCAR Tech campus, particularly at a time when the organization is growing, diversifying and helping to meet the country’s demand for skilled technicians,” said Bob Kessler

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Oct. 12, 2022) – Universal Technical Institute’s (UTI) Mooresville, N.C. campus, NASCAR Technical Institute (NASCAR Tech) is pleased to welcome Robert (Bob) Kessler as its new Campus President. Kessler comes to NASCAR Tech with more than a decade of senior leadership experience at UTI. He comes from Exton, Penn., where he’s been campus president at UTI-Exton for the last 12 years. He also currently serves as UTI’s Regional Vice President of Operations and will retain that role.

Kessler joins NASCAR Tech as the campus celebrates its 20th anniversary and was recently named “Best Place to Work” (over 50 employees) in Iredell County. He replaces Jennifer Bergeron, who has served as campus president at NASCAR Tech for 12 years and has left to pursue other opportunities.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join Universal Technical Institute’s NASCAR Tech campus, particularly at a time when the organization is growing, diversifying, and helping to meet the country’s demand for skilled technicians,” said Kessler. “NASCAR Tech can offer students state-of-the-industry training aligned with the needs of prospective employers in the motorsports, transportation, manufacturing, and welding industries. As campus president, I look forward to supporting the success of NASCAR Tech, its current and future students, and our graduates, and working with our employer partners to ensure we’re continuing to build a pipeline of skilled technicians.”

NASCAR Tech currently offers training for automotive and motorsports technicians, CNC machining, and welding. Recently, the campus transitioned to offering students associate-level degrees. UTI and NASCAR Tech students alike all benefit from world-renowned automotive and industry partners to ensure their education and training are aligned with industry needs upon entering the workforce.

“Bob arrives in Mooresville with an impressive resume and diverse management experience that will surely benefit our students and staff during this exciting time at our NASCAR Tech campus,” said Sherrell Smith, VP of Campus Operations and Services. “We are proud of our student outcomes at NASCAR Tech. I’m looking forward to Bob’s leadership to ensure our automotive, CNC, and welding students have an exceptional educational experience and our growth and diversification strategy is well executed at the campus level.”
