SACRAMENTO, Calif., September 10, 2015– Universal Technical Institute (UTI) – the leading provider of post-secondary education for students seeking careers as professional automotive, diesel, collision repair, motorcycle and marine technicians – announced today that Tess Dubois-Carey is the new President of its Sacramento campus.
Dubois-Carey is entering her seventh year with UTI and previously served as Student Services Director before accepting her new position as campus President. In addition to supporting the Sacramento campus in her many previous roles such as Campus Admissions Director, she has been a difference-maker nationally for UTI.
Dubois-Carey has a long list of accomplishments, awards and experience that represent a powerful application of her education, strong work ethic and commitment to UTI team members.
“I’m honored to serve as President of the UTI-Sacramento campus,” Dubois-Carey said. “UTI is a wonderful educational institution that is passionate about changing the lives of its students. I’ve seen the difference we have made with people of all ages on our Sacramento campus. Our instructors provide an awesome training experience for our students and we follow up by helping them locate jobs and begin careers in the industry.”
Dubois-Carey is a diligent worker who has provided great support to the UTI staff and has also worked closely with Sacramento students in various capacities.

Tess will continue to put students first and make sure we operate with the highest ethical standards.”
In her role, Dubois-Carey will oversee more than 140 employees at the 245,000-square-foot training facility, which is located in Natomas off Interstate 5 and Arena Boulevard, and has the capacity to train up to 2,100 students.
Since opening in 2005, the campus has successfully partnered with companies throughout Northern California that employ automotive graduates, including Maita Automotive Group, The Niello Company, Peterson Caterpillar, Cooks Collision, and Raymond Handling.
“According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there will be more than 1.2 million jobs in the collision, automotive, motorcycle and marine industries by 2022,” notes Sherrell Smith, Executive Vice President of Admissions and Operations of Universal Technical Institute. “We understand the challenge ahead and UTI is poised to continue serving a growing demand for qualified, well-trained technicians. Dubois-Carey, who is a native of Franklin, Mass., earned her bachelor’s degree in hotel management with a minor in marketing from the University of Houston.
