Universal Technical Institute (UTI) is gearing up to welcome students to its new San Antonio campus set to open in Spring 2026. With a focus on specialized training in skilled trades, this facility aims to address the pressing need for skilled labor by providing hands-on education in high-demand fields.

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), and Universal Technical Institute are celebrating the graduation of the 100th class from the Porsche Technology Apprenticeship Program (PTAP).

The Ford FACT Program is a 51-week accelerated training program at Universal Technical Institute across nine locations.

Adrienne DeTray, senior vice president and CIO at Universal Technical Institute, agreed. “Get close to the business, both physically and strategically. Sit in on value stream reviews, understand the strategy and what they’re trying to accomplish, attend operational meetings outside of the technical domain,” she said. “You really can’t align your goals if you don’t truly understand where [the business is] coming from and where they’re headed.”

After graduating from high school, he said he moved to Chicago, where he attended the Universal Technical Institute.

Four students were in the aviation category, with one automotive student being chosen: Michael Debenedetto from Hewitt, New Jersey, who is studying at the Universal Technical Institute in Irving, Texas.

The Career Builder experiences included visits to: CIT Trucks in Mokena, Village of New Lenox Public Works, Chicago Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Manheim Chicago Auto Auction in Matteson and Universal Technical Institute (UTI) – Lisle Campus.

Training services provider Universal Technical Institute has begun using a passwordless platform from Microsoft, “and as we expand adoption, the benefits show up quickly, with fewer password resets, fewer service desk tickets, and a faster start to the day,” said Adrienne DeTray, senior vice president and CIO at the company.

Universal Technical Institute will open its first Utah campus in 2027 in West Jordan, part of its North Star Strategy to expand technical and healthcare workforce training nationwide.
