TOPDON US, an EVSE and specialty equipment supplier that provides technology and tools for automotive repair professionals, is partnering with Universal Technical Institute (UTI) to train students in electric vehicle maintenance and repair.

The five-year partnership between UTI and TOPDON will see tools donated to certain UTI campuses offering EV curriculum.

The timing is particularly strategic given Florida's robust construction sector and year-round cooling requirements. With 9% projected industry growth through 2033, this program positions UTI to capture increased market share in a high-demand sector. Based on typical vocational program metrics, each HVACR student could generate approximately $15,000-$20,000 in revenue over the program duration.

UTI’s MSAT programs train graduates to service and repair vehicles from leading global manufacturers with brand-specific technology and systems, according to a joint press release from UTI and Tesla.

Universal Technical Institute (UTI) announced the expansion of its Manufacturer Specific Advanced Training program by adding Tesla’s START Collision Repair program.
