Tahoe Campbell, another senior, said he plans to enroll in the Universal Technical Institute in Lisle, Illinois, and land a job as a wind turbine technician.

Recently, our multicultural women's studies class had the opportunity to learn about women in trades from a representative of the NASCAR Universal Technical Institute (UTI), Anna Kerrigan.

That event took place on Feb. 9 at the UTI Lisle campus and involved hands-on and written automotive testing on vehicle parts, brakes, diagnostics and electrical systems.

To advance in the field and reach higher levels, students typically continue their education at schools where collision repair courses are an area of focus, such as Universal Technical Institute in Houston or Austin, or at ACC.

Universal Technical Institute’s (UTI) Motorcycle & Marine Mechanics Institute in Orlando, Fla. is announcing it has once again earned the Military Friendly School designation.

Once again Universal Technical Institute in Mooresville has earned the Military Friendly School designation. It has been recognized for student retention and job placement rates. Students on the winning team, Joshua Suarez and Noah Fox from South Iredell High School, demonstrated proficiency in all competitive areas. They can now advance their skill sets by utilizing their $10,000 UTI grant at one of 16 UTI, MMI, NASCAR Technical Institute or MIAT-branded campuses nationwide.

"I was working more than I had time for schoolwork," he says. "I was a little disappointed, but I realized sometimes, things just don't go your way and you have to make the best of it. You know, I'm really glad I made the decision to go to NASCAR Tech."

The Universal Technical Institute-Dallas/Fort Worth campus has been named a Military Friendly® School for the 2022-2023 academic year.
