August 7, 2014 - Universal Technical Institute Celebrates 20,000 Graduates of Ford FACT Program

This month, Universal Technical Institute announces that 20,000 students have graduated from its Ford Accelerated Credential Training (Ford FACT) program. The 15-week training program combines the recognized quality of UTI automotive programs with exclusive Ford Motor Co. curriculum, giving students access to one of the country’s largest auto makers.

A stepping stone to a promising career, the program allows students to earn up to 11 of Ford’s classroom credentials. In addition, the program can be combined with available web-based training to receive up to 70 percent of the service technician training available through Ford’s training centers. Graduates from the program are ready to work, armed with qualifications to perform warranty repairs on Ford and Lincoln vehicles. The curriculum includes comprehensive diagnostic, electrical and diesel training that is valued by the Ford and Lincoln dealerships across the country that hire UTI Ford FACT graduates.

“We’re proud to celebrate the milestone of graduating 20,000 students through the Ford FACT program,” said Kim McWaters, Chairman and CEO of Universal Technical Institute. “Since the establishment of the program in 1999, we have been committed to offering our students a best-in-class environment that prepares them for success as an entry-level Ford or Lincoln technician.”

Ford provides all vehicles, engines and training aids for the FACT program, which gives students hands-on experience that mirrors working in a dealership. A dedicated team of instructors not only provide technical training for students, but also work hard to help bridge the gap from student to professional technician. Workshops on interview skills, professionalism and life in the dealership are commonly held to ensure students are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to land their dream jobs and thrive in the workplace.

The Ford FACT program is available at nine UTI Campuses, including, Avondale, Ariz.; Exton, Pa.; Houston, Texas; Lisle, Ill.; Mooresville, N.C., Norwood, Mass.; Orlando, Fla.; Rancho Cucamonga and Sacramento, Calif.
