December 16, 2013 - UTI-Lisle Attends National Future Farmers of America Convention
Thousands fill a 300,000 square foot exhibit hall to learn about the current state and future of agricultural technology during the annual FFA Convention. |
Universal Technical Institute (UTI) made its fifth appearance at the Future Farmers of America (FFA) Convention from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2 in Louisville, Ky. Representatives from the Lisle Campus met with more than 62,000 students, educators and industry leaders, showcasing the benefits of UTI’s programs and manufacturer-specific advanced training to the agricultural industry.
The convention began 65 years ago and is open to students ranging from elementary all the way up through high school and even some post-secondary students. Attendees are able to see the different aspects of the agricultural industry and learn about the newest technology being applied.
“FFA is the largest youth group in the country with 800,000 total members. This was a tremendous opportunity to expose UTI to an audience seeking an agricultural education who may not have thought of us otherwise. It was encouraging to connect with so many students interested in exploring careers in diesel and hydraulics technology,” said Michael Vivona, UTI-Lisle’s Local Marketing Manager.
UTI-Lisle’s exhibit drew hundreds of visitors, and featured a Cobra on display and a spark plug challenge for guests to try. Additionally, UTI-Lisle presented a national scholarship to the winners of the Agricultural Mechanics Competition, and attended several VIP events as part of the FFA education and industry support network.
