November 27, 2013 - UTI Lisle Welcomed by Area Officials

Universal Technical Institute (UTI) opened the doors of its newest campus Monday, Nov. 11, in the Village of Lisle and area officials stopped by the campus Friday, Nov. 15, to tour the new state-of-the-industry training center.

“On behalf of the Village of Lisle, I want to thank UTI for bringing this excellent career training center to our community and for helping advance our local economy,” said Lisle Mayor Joe Broda, who is a proud alumnus of a technical school. “UTI has a great reputation within the industry and helps individuals start their careers as entry-level professional technicians. The village is thrilled UTI’s future is here in Lisle.”

Joining Mayor Broda on the tour was Illinois State Senator Michael Connelly and Illinois Representative Jeanne Ives along with Tom Althoff of the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce.

To start the walk-through, UTI-Lisle campus president Julie Mueller expressed her appreciation for the local officials’ continued advocacy for the industry and spoke about the importance of growing the economy through industry training and job placement.

“Growing the local economy is a priority for Sen. Connelly, Rep. Ives, Mayor Broda, trustees and the Lisle Chamber, and while we are here today to mark the opening of our new campus, the long-term economic impact of our Lisle facility is just beginning,” said Mueller.

The new facility replaces the UTI-Glendale Heights campus, where it had operated for the past 25 years and produced more than 19,000 graduates.

“We are grateful to have been a part of the Glendale Heights community for so many years,” said Mueller. “And now, we are excited about our future as a member of the Lisle community.”

The Lisle facility is designed to accommodate approximately 2,000 students and up to 150 faculty and staff. The layout and functionality of the new facility reflect changes in the industry and was designed to incorporate a curriculum that best prepares graduates with the education and technical skills needed to be successful.

In addition to the core automotive and diesel programs offered, four manufacturer-specific advanced training (MSAT) Programs are available at the Lisle campus: The Ford Accelerated Credential Training (FACT), Honda Professional Automotive Career Training (PACT), International Technician Education Program (ITEP) and Toyota Professional Automotive Training (TPAT) program.
