November 6, 2013 - Local Official Visits Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando

The Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando recently welcomed local Osceola County Commissioner Michael Harford and Osceola County Community Outreach Coordinator Bethzaida Garcia to its campus for a visit of the facility.

Garcia and the Commissioner, who governs in Osceola County District One, spent time learning about MMI’s training programs and its students.

Both are avid motorcycle enthusiasts and got to see firsthand that 70 percent of MMI’s training is hands-on.

“I own a 1975 Honda Super Sport and observing all the ‘bike wrench’ enthusiasm and hands-on training makes me want to pull it out of the garage again,” said Harford. “There are all types of various career opportunities near Osceola County, so it was good to see how the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute is a resource for people of all ages who might be interested in pursuing a career as a motorcycle technician.”

“We were honored to have Commissioner Harford and Bethzaida Garcia tour the campus so they could see the positive effects of our in-depth training on manufacturer-specific products,” said Steve McElfresh, campus president at UTI-Orlando.
