July 2, 2013 - “The Ultimate Driving Machine®” Requires the Ultimate Technician

Flow BMW in Winston-Salem, N.C., isn’t just a great dealership and service center, but also an employer of graduates from NASCAR Technical Institute (NASCAR Tech).

Last month, more than 130 enrolled and prospective students, along with their families, were in attendance at the local dealership for an information session with school representatives, graduates and Flow BMW employees. The session provided attendees with a general campus overview, curriculum download and first-hand testimonials from graduates now thriving in the industry.

“This event is a great way to introduce prospective students to NASCAR Tech, and also motivate students currently enrolled,” said Hank Powell, regional admissions director for Universal Technical Institute. “It’s important to discuss the skills gap within the industry and emphasize the amount of competitive-paying jobs that are available.”

Flow currently has 10 automotive focused NASCAR Tech graduates on staff who serve in a variety of capacities. With a lot of options in an automotive and racing hotbed, Flow BMW commented on what makes NASCAR Tech grads so appealing.

“They just really seem to fit the German line well,” said Ricky Stevens, Flow BMW’s service manager. “Most went through the BMW STEP program, so they have a great understanding of the specific models.”

“The Ultimate Driving Machine®” requires the ultimate technician, which is why Flow BMW and a number of other dealerships around the country turn to NASCAR Tech and UTI for the industry’s best technicians.
