February 8, 2013 - Local Commissioner Visits Universal Technical Institute in Exton

In late December, Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in Exton welcomed local commissioner Terence Farrell to its campus for a tour of the facility and a meet-and-greet with executive leaders. The Commissioner, who governs in Chester County where Exton is located, spent time learning about UTI, its training programs and its students.

The tour – led by Steve McElfresh, Interim Campus President; Ted Groff, Interim Director of Education and Mike Chapman, Interim Director of Student Services – provided Commissioner Farrell with a snapshot of the Philadelphia suburb campus and its many offerings to students. Throughout his visit, he learned about the history of UTI and its advantages to both students and their potential employers, including the school’s numerous industry partners and emphasis on professionalism. From visiting the Toyota and Ford labs to meeting students in the hallways, the Commissioner left with an understanding of why UTI is the industry’s choice.

“We were thrilled to welcome Commissioner Farrell to our campus and show him a day in the life of our students,” said McElfresh. “Though we could only give him a glimpse into all of the great things we do here at UTI, he was certainly impressed with our commitment to preparing our students for long-term employment through hands-on training and elective/MSAT opportunities.”
