November 7, 2012 - UTI-Sacramento enjoyed some tricks, but mostly treated others this Halloween
The UTI-Sacramento students and staff celebrated Halloween with decorations, costumes and fun activities and prizes. |
UTI-Sacramento took Halloween seriously this year. The campus celebrated with festivities that included a student appreciation event, costume contests, a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Yuba City Charter School’s playground fund, trick-or-treating in each department and even a fully-equipped haunted house.
On Oct. 26, Student Services hosted a “Haunted Under the Hood” event and contest for students. The event included free hot dogs, a football toss, a car decorating contest, Snap-On Tool raffle, and costume contest. The winner of the car decorating contest was the Student Worker car that was equipped with decorations and sound effects. Each entry fee for the car decorating contest went directly to the Yuba City Charter School’s playground fund.
Everyone got into the Halloween spirit – pun intended – by helping the students have a fun day at class, decorating the campus, and of course dressing up in costume. The winner of the employee costume contest was Debbie Walker, who represented the Grinch in Financial Aid’s Whoville Gone Wrong theme. People Services Coordinator Carrie McClarin was not only painted green as the Wicked Witch of the West, but also had a broom equipped with a bicycle seat and Porsche emblem.
After two days of student and staff fun, UTI-Sacramento was able to raise almost $200 for the Yuba City Charter School playground fund.
