Volunteers from the UTI-Norwood campus worked alongside staff from Minuteman High School this summer, helping to give the workshop for Minuteman’s Automotive Technology program a new look. The team spent three days renovating, reorganizing, washing, and painting the auto shop that provides hands-on technical training for high school students.
“Real world involvement is an important part of the student experience, and especially important to employers,” said Ernest Houle, principal of Minuteman High School in Lexington, Mass. “The auto shop is an integral component of our Automotive Technology program, and renovating its interior is the first step in our plan to enhance the learning environment for students.”
Minuteman High School’s Automotive Technology program is a four-year program and a vital part of technical education in the region.
