September 12, 2012 - Universal Technical Institute Dallas Campus Hosts Fast Friday at Ennis Track

Universal Technical Institute’s Dallas campus recently hosted Fast Friday at Texas Motorplex located in Ennis. Of the 150 people who attended the event, more than 80 took to the track to put their cars to the test.

With Fast Friday, drivers can fulfill their “need for speed” in a safe environment. The event helps regular racers tune their super-fast cars and by allowing everyone access to the track, Fast Friday helps curb illegal street racing.

“Fast Friday was a great opportunity to race cars and have fun,” said Sandra Muskopf, Universal Technical Institute Dallas Campus President. “The event also gave us the chance to share with the community more about UTI and how we train students for careers as automotive or diesel technicians.”

Texas Motorplex will feature 20 Fast Friday events in 2012, allowing for even the most novice racers to get laps under their belts. Fast Friday is designed to not only allow participants valuable track time to prepare for a weekend of competition, but also gives street racers the chance to drive their cars down the quarter-mile Texas Motorplex.
