September 7, 2012 - UTI-Sacramento hosts thousands on campus for annual Ride Fest event, raises money for UTI Foundation
The 2012 Ride Fest event at UTI-Sacramento included a car show, student competitions, a live band and thousands of entertained visitors. |
On a sunny Sunday in August, more than 1,500 people visited UTI-Sacramento for its annual Ride Fest event, featuring a car show with more than 200 cars, a live band, RC car races, refreshments, a photo booth and temporary airbrush tattoos.
Visitors toured the campus, listened to the live band and viewed the impressive car show in the beautiful 80 degree weather, while students competed in the custom body competition, custom paint competition and student engine build-off. The custom body competition yielded creative creations in the form of unique mailboxes and the custom paint competition challenged students to customize skateboards with the theme of cancer awareness. Visitors interested in the elective training programs offered at UTI-Sacramento were shown demonstrations by Ford and other industry partners that make UTI the industry’s choice.
Through dyno run, t-shirt and refreshment sales, UTI-Sacramento raised more than $800 for the UTI Foundation, whose mission is to support and encourage technical education for the automotive, diesel, collision repair, motorcycle, marine, NASCAR and other transportation industries through scholarships, grants, career development and other special programs.
