May 22, 2012 - UTI-Norwood Hosted April Job Fair Featuring Careers in Automotive and Diesel Service Technology With More Than 30 Employers

Recently, the UTI-Norwood campus hosted a job fair for all current UTI students and graduates. This major recruiting event allowed students to meet with hiring managers from more than 30 employers, including companies with job opportunities in Massachusetts and throughout New England, as well as representatives from the U.S. Armed Forces. Also in attendance were Thomas O’Rourke, President and CEO of the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Ted Mulvehill, Director of Veteran Services for the Town of Norwood.

Representatives from hiring companies talked with current students and graduates about entry-level job opportunities, and the career paths offered for automotive and diesel service technicians within their organizations. Diesel student Matt Allen, who graduates in May, was even offered employment with Penske after being interviewed at the job fair. Employers such as Gillette Stadium and Roche Brothers also attended to interview current students looking for part-time work while attending school.

Local employers who participated at this event included: Brodie Toyota Lift, Cazenovia John Deere, Crown Lift, Penske, Ryder, Schlumberger, Waste Management, Cummins NE, Milton CAT, Allied Auto, Snap-On, Napa, F1 Boston, AAA Southern New England, McDevitt Trucks, Patriot Freightliner/Western Star, Sullivan Tire, Pep Boys, VIP Auto, Speedee Oil Change & Tune Up, Roche Brothers, Travel Centers of America, Gillette Stadium, Goodyear, Autozone, A.
