Dec. 20, 2011 - For the past 22 years the Glendale Heights Chamber of Commerce has been working with local businesses to provide gifts and toys to families who are in need during the holiday season. For the past five years, the staff at the UTI Glendale Heights Campus has been working with the Chamber of Commerce to help with these efforts to give back to the community. In 2011, 97 area families, totaling nearly 500 people, were recipients of special Christmas gifts.
In December, the Glendale Heights Village Hall opened its doors to local businesses’ staff members, employees and volunteers, asking them to lend a hand to help create a better holiday season for those who are in need. This past year, there were several members of the UTI Glendale Heights Campus that participated in the event. The volunteers came together to wrap the donated gifts for the families in festive ribbons, paper, and bows. The families then picked up the gifts on an undisclosed date, which allowed everyone in the community to share in a very special holiday season.
