The UTI-Norwood campus donates an essential training aid to the auto shop class at Greater Lowell Technical High School |
March 30, 2011 - Students from the Greater Lowell Technical High School are the latest recipients of a clip car donation, courtesy of the Universal Technical Institute (UTI) campus in Norwood, Mass.
Art Cornellier, the school’s auto tech instructor, won the clip car when he attended an instructor development seminar at UTI in early March.
Clip cars are valuable training aids for auto shop students. Budget cuts in several states have reduced funds for purchasing these training aids, so UTI has stepped to the plate to support these programs through donations.
“High school auto shop programs deserve the right kind of training aids for their students,” says Max Kleiner, the UTI admissions representative who facilitated the donation. “A successful career in automotive technology begins right here, in this classroom.”
Waiting to receive the donation was Don Ducharme, Technical Director, Arthur Cornellier, Auto Tech Instructor, and Brenda Richardson, School Counselor for transportation students.
